Just Causes

Guess who's back.
Back again.
No, whatever. First I'd like to talk about the things I added to my blog since my first post. If you noticed on the right side there's a little game with a penguin that has a slight link with global warming, so I put it there. I thought that, as the game goes on, your iceberg gets smaller and it's harder to finish the game, like with global warming.
Another thing, if you haven't noticed, right above this should be a picture of a shark! If it's not there, I probably messed up somehow, just tell me in the comments and I'll try and fix it. Either way, what I added should be a bunch of randomn pictures of sharks that changes every day. I put those sharks there for two reasons. One, sharks are awesome and deserve to be on my blog. And two, the climate change is affecting the sharks lifestyle (I'm going to write an entire post about that) so I thought it would be ok to add them.

Anyway as this is my second post and I should probably start talking about my actual subject or my teacher will get mad at me, here it is. Global warming and climat change. So today I'm going to doing a brief overview of some of the main causes of global warming and what could be done to reduce said problems.

So, in short, global warming is mainly caused by us humans. More precisely, the air pollution we produce called greenhouse gases (turns out they're not actually green. Who knew?). Now, greenhouse gases come from a lot of different things, most of it comes from the exhaust of cars, factories (like in the picture!) and the production of electricity (Surprisingly, greenhouses don't produce any greenhouse gases so I'm kind of confused as to why it's called that). All of these things produce carbon dioxyde (CO2) or other gases which do pretty much the same thing.

Now I think some ways that we could stop global warming, or atleast slow it down is to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. Obviously. Since one of the main contributors to greenhouse gases is the exhaust from cars, I think we should continue to try to get fully electric cars since they don't produce CO2. And if that doesn't happen then I think we should make a type a filter that goes over the end of the exhaust pipe so it doesn't get in the air.

Once again, till next time,
Matt,

  1. LOL Matt I love that Eminem reference you made in the beginning! Also, you should show me how you added that flash game, if I find one pertinent to my topic. Will you further investigate the situation in China, where they are obligated to wear masks? (Unless that's not from pollution, then ignore that question). I love the sense of humour you integrate in your writing, I can practically hear your voice in my head as I read! Great post, I'll follow your blog!

  2. Matthew! I liked that you wanted to talk about the effects of greenhouse gases because it is something that interests me. While I was reading your post, I saw that you questioned why they called it greenhouse gases. I wanted to say that they call it greenhouse gases because of the greenhouse effect. Basically, it means that the earth is like a greenhouse. When using a greenhouse, they allow the sun rays to heat up the inside of the greenhouse to keep it warm because the glass walls will keep allowing the heat in while not letting much escape. The same thing applies to the earth but kinda different while adding in the gasses that we produce as a factor for the increase in temperature. I won't really go into detail because I haven't read on the greenhouse effect in years and I could be wrong somewhere. So, take my comment as a grain of salt. I hope that your next posts will interest others as it interests me and I'll keep reading your posts.

  3. Hey Matt! I think your blog is really interesting because even though it's an overly talked subject, you make it funny and you add your own twist to it. I was wondering the same thing as you...why are they called "greenhouse gases"? Anyways I can't wait to read your next post :)

  4. Yo shark guy. I really enjoyed reading your second post (after you forced me to) but I'm kinda glad I did. It's very interesting because you add your own little touch to it ro make it funny and interesting to read. I'm going to be honest with you, I really think you should put a lot less random talking about sharks and more talk about your subject. It's good but some of us just want to read your blog. Thank you.
